This site does not ask for your name, has no forms to fill in, does not recognise you and does not follow you elsewhere. It exists to tell you what is happening in the city during the feast. Below, in full, are the few pieces of information that are nonetheless processed when you open the page.
The Data Controller is the Parish of Saints Matteo and Gregorio Magno, based in Salerno, which manages the website.

Nothing about you as a person. There are no accounts, contact forms, sign-ups, comments or social network buttons. No special categories of data are processed; in particular, we draw no inference about the religious beliefs of anyone who reads the programme of a patronal feast.
Three things remain, described below: the technical server logs, two functional cookies, and a visit count kept as plain numbers.
Like every website, the server records the requests it receives: the originating IP address, date and time, the address of the page requested, the outcome of the request and the type of browser. These are technical records, needed to keep the site running and to defend it against abuse.
The logs are not used to identify anyone, are not cross-referenced with other information, and do not feed the visit count described below. They are deleted automatically within thirty days, unless they must be kept longer to establish liability in the event of computer crime.
Legal basis: the controller's legitimate interest in the security and proper working of the site (Article 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
The site sets two cookies only, both first-party and technical in nature. Neither profiles you, shows you advertising or tracks you across other sites. That is why there is no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to (Article 122 of the Italian Data Protection Code and the Italian Data Protection Authority's cookie guidelines of 10 June 2021).
To know how much the page has been consulted, and on what kind of device, the server keeps a tally: how many visits on each day, how many from a phone, a tablet or a computer, how many in Italian and how many in English. The type of device is taken from what the browser declares by itself; once the category has been derived, that declaration is discarded.
The result is a file of numbers, kept on the server and not reachable from outside. It holds no IP addresses, no identifiers, no browsing paths and nothing else that could lead back to a person: it says how many times the page was opened, not by whom. No third-party analytics service is installed on this site.
Legal basis: the controller's legitimate interest in knowing how the site is being consulted, in order to size the service and assess the usefulness of the initiative (Article 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
To look the way it does, the page calls a few resources hosted elsewhere. When your browser downloads them, the provider of that service necessarily sees your IP address and the address of the page making the request. Nothing else is passed on, because nothing else has been given to us.
The first time the map appears, the site asks your browser where you are, so as to show you together with the venues of the feast: it is the question of someone who has just scanned the code in the street. The request is made by your browser, through its own dialog. If you say no, the map stays as it is and you will not be asked again; if you never open the map, nothing is asked at all. The button at the top left of the map remains available.
Your position stays on your device and is used only to centre the map: it is not sent to this site, not recorded, not kept, and it plays no part in the visit count. Once given, the permission can be withdrawn in your browser settings.
The site is hosted on servers located in the European Union. The external providers listed above may process the IP address outside the Union, in the United States: in that case the transfer relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or on standard contractual clauses.
We do not disseminate the data and do not pass it to third parties, other than to the technical suppliers who keep the site running, appointed as processors. There is no automated decision-making and no profiling.
You may ask the controller for access to data concerning you, its rectification or erasure, the restriction of processing, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest (Articles 15 to 22 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679). Requests go to the addresses given at the top of this page.
Bear in mind that, since the site collects no identifying data, in most cases we will not be able to find information relating to you: that is a limit that follows from having chosen not to collect any.
If you believe the processing infringes the law, you may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or bring the matter before a court.
If the site changes — for instance once the typefaces are hosted on our own server — this page will be updated and the date at the top will say so.
